If the Parisienne’s are loving it, you know it must be good. And, if the celebrities are catching on, then you know it’s destined to be big.
Worn by the likes of Vanessa Paradis, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Alba, the French label, IRO, is quickly becoming quite the must-have.
And the latest collection gives you a pretty good indication as to why.
IRO’s Autumn/Winter ‘11 collection offers an eclectic blend of two opposite ends of the fashion world that is certain to get heads turning.
Imagine a magical romance between an enchanting woman from the Middle East and a French man that looks so good you want to eat him. Throw in a military touch, and there you have it, IRO’s Autumn/Winter ’11 collection.
Using beautiful natural tones, atypical cuts and a jungle of prints, this collection expresses a strong-yet-feminine mood with a distinct vintage feel.
An unlikely mix of colours, textures and silhouettes has surprisingly alluring results that are sure to make the hip and trendy swoon.
IRO was launched in 2004 by French brothers, Laurent and Arik Britton, who wanted to create bold yet simple pieces that were instantly, effortlessly chic.
This is a rather ambitious aspiration given that the Britton brothers had come from the music industry with little to no design experience.
But what they lacked in experience they made up for with a strong vision, channelling their love of rock music into the medium of fashion.
And, I think these French boys have achieved their aim.
Every piece of IRO’s collection could be worn day or night, and exudes a unique style that would feel at home in anyone’s wardrobe in any corner of the globe.
Pretty impressive for a couple of musicians.
